A. P. Singh, of Kolkata, India, was elected to serve as second vice president of Lions Clubs International at the association's 105th International Convention, July 7 through July 11, 2023. Vice President Singh is a practicing chartered accountant and has family business interests in automobile dealerships.
A Lion since 1984 and a member of the Calcutta Vikas Lions Club, Vice President Singh has held many positions within the association, including district governor and council chairperson. He has served as GMT international coordinator for four years and as a member of a number of ad hoc board committees. He was chairperson for the 2017 DGE seminar in Chicago, USA, and has served as faculty at more than 50 ALLIs/RLLIs, RLLIs, FDIs, and LCIP certification programs. He has also served as a multi-national coordinator for Campaign SightFirst II, CA leader for Campaign 100, a member of the LCIF Steering Committee, and as chairperson of the National SightFirst Committee of India. Vice President Singh has participated in and presented seminars at Area Forums in all constitutional areas.
He was the co-chairperson of the Organizing Committee for the ISAAME Forum in Kolkata, India. In recognition of his service to the association, Vice President Singh has received numerous awards, including multiple International President's Awards, as well as the Ambassador of Goodwill Award, the highest honor the association grants its members.
He is a major gift donor for Campaign SightFirst II and Campaign 100, and a progressive Melvin Jones Fellow. In addition to his Lions activities, Vice President Singh is accredited with the initiation of various service programs in collaboration with other trusts, foundations, and corporate houses. He has worked on establishing a web-based Lions leadership development platform, and a micro-finance program, and has organized multiple large-scale online events to keep Lions engaged. Vice President Singh has three children.

This is the official call for the Annual Convention for the Lions Clubs of New York and Bermuda, Inc. Multiple District 20, Lions Clubs International Inc. to be held the dates of May 3-5 2024 in the DoubleTree Hotel Binghamton, New York.
The Council of Governors has directed that the hours for Certification of delegates and voting shall be as follows: ALL EVENTS WILL BE AT THE DOUBLETREE HOTEL

Moderator: DG Giuseppe Coco will help Aaron 'do some splainin' to help step up your digital & marketing and to learn how to use it. Especially if you or your club doesn't have one or only has a small presence.
Aaron is a member of the Olcott, NY. He is NY State & Bermuda Lion's (aka MD-20) webmaster. He's also a founding member and co-chair of MITT (Marketing, Internet & Technology Team).
The first hour will focus on available technology and the ease and importance of utilizing what's available for free to enhance and tell our stories in any market. We will also describe how to correctly market your club and service projects.
(10-minute break)
The 2nd hour will be a breakdown of hosting and the best way to market small or large, high-branded fundraising events. (You can use principles shown and discussed for other things too)
We'll break down the processes to host and market the oldest charity swim in New York State. It is called thepolarbearswim.org and for 56 years, the Olcott, NY Lions have been hosting this iconic polar swim/plunge, where hundreds of participants take the plunge each year - some for decades. However, with the emergence of new entities creating regional plunge competitions, the swim is currently undergoing an exciting strategic rebrand and expansion plan.
Discover why this is important and see if the insights can help your club reach a new audience and find new members for your current or planned new fundraising events.

Literacy is the foundation of all other educational skills. Lions Clubs have a unique opportunity to improve the lives of local people in their communities. There is strong research demonstrating the importance of literacy in helping reduce poverty and encouraging people to be successful. Lions can focus on community activities and events that help improve literacy skills for individuals and families and produce positive results.
